WARHAG is a metal band hailing from British Columbia, Canada. Led by veteran metal guitarist Kurt
Phillips, WARHAG has one foot in the era of classic metal a-la
Priest/Maiden and the other in the current with great artwork and modern production.
The songs feature tight and spare structures, with intelligent and
thought-provoking lyrics, interspersed with melodic ensemble
playing, thus continuing the body of work started with "Day of the
Saxons", (written by Kurt for Witchkiller's "Day of the Saxons" EP
and re-released in 1997 on Metal Blade Records' 15th and 20th
Anniversary Compilation discs) and bringing these themes to today's
metal-buying public.
Formed in 2000, WARHAG shows on their recordings an uncompromising
dedication for this form of metal" that bodes well for the long run. Tracks such as "Rage of Angels” and “Into the
Castle” show the commitment to imperial quality power metal that
remains timeless.
The Band
WARHAG has recorded and distributed a 6-song
demo recording titled "Sinister Grip" to create
interest and support for the group distributed through
Independent Record Labels, Metal Magazine reviewers and made
available to the metal fans everywhere! (warhag2002@yahoo.ca)
WARHAG is currently in pre-production to complete the full length
disk, remix the previous songs and add enhanced live footage to the
disk .
